RUTH HAUSER
RUTH HAUSER
A typical artist activated by a personal creative urge. While still a
child, when she first grasped a brush, her special personal tastes
already became apparent in selection and adaptation of colours and
viewing of objects and their portrayal.
The works of Mrs. Hauser, personify the incompatibility as it were
between them and her feminine gentle personality; they appear to have
been created by someone of great body strength.
The spiritual necessity to emphasize shape, without conceding with
respect to the value of colour has caused her to try her talent at
sculpture. Three years, she spent at the Department of sculpture in the
Plastic Art Institute in Bat-Yam; her achievements were suitably
appreciated and she was awarded a study grant for three years. Finally
she concluded her studies at the Institute with outstanding success.
It should be mentioned that she knew how to learn from her teachers and
instructors in the field of art, but has never come under the sphere of
influence of any of them. Her personality, character and artistic
ambitions command her artistic path.
She has many internal conflicts. The strides from here to there — this
is a praiseworthy characteristic of a young artist, who has not yet
crystalised fixed methods of expression. Each additional work reveals
and points towards new outlooks.
